The Recanto Barra Mansa, which translates as Barra Mansa Retreat, is located in a privileged area of the Pantanal, on the banks of the Negro River. This is an exclusive location where the river runs between two large swamps, making it virtually inaccessible to other visitors. The site is accessed by air, mainly from the cities of Campo Grande and Aquidauana. During the monthes of may to november the acess is also possible using 4X4 vehicles.

This is a place with much privacy, rest, rest and leisure. The Barra Mansa enables visitors contact with nature and a chance to experience the routine of a typical farmer in the Pantanal, as well as the contemplation of animals such as deer, otter, deer, alligators, cub, rheas, and even jaguar. A variety of birds can also be seen: macaws, toucans, tuiuiús, bigu, herons, punches. With capacity for a maximum 16 guests we provide high quality services, combined with comfort and privacy. Guests may enjoy rooms (double, triple or quadruple rooms) with air conditioning, ceiling fan, balconies and airy outdoor hammock areas, a restaurant with mosquito screens, satellite TV, telephone services and broadband Internet, landing strip, laundry services, bar, souvenir store, fishing equipment for hire, etc. Meals of regional cuisine, made on the wood stove. The tours range from horseback riding, boat trips, canoeing, hiking on trails, recreational fishing and photographic safari (see section tours).
